eHealth and the Waterloo Wellington LHIN

eHealth

eHealth is a term we use to describe the use of information and clinical technologies to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of health care services.

Examples include: the implementation of electronic health records, utilizing telemedicine to increase access to care for rural and diverse populations, and online portals that better connect patients with their care teams and vital health information.

eHealth plays an important role in helping the WWLHIN achieve its strategic objectives. The WWLHIN's eHealth initiatives are aligned with provincial goals but are locally developed and tailored to meet our community's needs.  The WWLHIN also supports the independent efforts of local health service providers by facilitating communication and collaboration between all partners.

eHealth is a key enabler of progress in the WWLHIN's Integrated Health Service Plan (IHSP) and is integral to many of the WWLHIN's initiatives. For more information, click on any of the projects below or feel free to contact our eHealth team.
